Embark on a voyage to explore and unravel the mysteries of the Chandertal Lake (the moon-shaped lake). The lake is situated at an altitude of 4250 m in Spiti and is a major attraction among travellers. It is accessible by road from Batal and then one has to trek for about 1 km to reach the lake.
The lake boasts of a wide range of flora and fauna in the summers and is surrounded by vast meadows and these meadows are carpeted with numerous varieties of wild flowers. It is also home to a few wild species like the Snow Leopard, Snow Cock, Chough, Rudy Shelduck, Black Ring Stilt, Chukor, Kestrel, Golden Eagle, Red Fox, Himalayan Ibex and the Blue Sheep.
This tour will not only take you to the one of the two high mountain wetlands of India, but will also help you explore the key attractions of Manali.

On your arrival in Manali, you will be greeted by our agent who will escort you to your hotel, where you may grab some rest, freshen up and have your breakfast. Then you will set off to explore Manali and visit the key attractions like the Hadimba Devi Temple and Manu Temple. Then you will proceed towards Vashisht, which is famous for its hot water springs.
Later, you will come back and explore the local markets of Old Manali and the Mall Road followed by a visit to the Tibetan Monastery. After that, you may check-in to your hotel for a scrumptious dinner and a hearty dinner.
Wake up early today, have your breakfast and you will then leave for Chandertal Lake at around 5 am. On the way to Chandertal Lake, you will be crossing the famous Rohtang Pass. On crossing the pass, you will notice a change in terrain from the lush green valleys to brown, dusty, rocky mountains. The ride along the gushing Chandra river will soon take you to Batal, from where you will have to trek for about 1 km to reach the lake.
Spend some quality time at the lake and then come to the campsite to sit by the bonfire, have dinner and a peaceful sleep.
Note: Rohtang Pass remains closed on Tuesdays for maintenance work and in order to visit the Pass on the other days, all the vehicles need to get a special permit from the local government as limited vehicles (800 petrol and 200 diesel vehicles) are allowed per day. As the number of vehicles allowed are very less in number, so sometimes it becomes difficult to secure a permit. In that case, might have to some extra money to the local transport union. However, no charges will be deducted from the tour cost.
Wake up early to witness a beautiful sunrise, come back to the campsite, have your breakfast and then continue your journey back to Manali via the same route through Rohtang Pass.
Arrive in Manali in the evening where you may choose to spend another night (chargeable) or continue your journey back home in a cab or a volvo.
