Day 1Shimla: Arrival & Sightseeing

Today you will be greeted upon your arrival in Chandigarh by our friendly agent, who will escort you to Shimla. As you travel and gain altitude, you will be passing through a major town of Himachal, i.e Solan. Solan is also known as the Mushroom Capital of India because of its mushroom cultivation and production.

Once we arrive in Shimla, you’ll have plenty of free time to explore and soak in the charm of this picturesque town. Here you will visit the famous Christ Church and we recommend taking a stroll on the Mall Road to try out delicious cuisines, or maybe buy souvenirs for your loved ones from Lakkar Bazar. If you want, you can even go to the scenic Jakhoo Hill, which is accessible on foot, or via a cab or ropeway (at your own expense).

After an exciting day filled with beautiful memories, you can sit back, relax, and check-in to your cozy hotel for a comfortable night’s stay in Shimla.

Day 2Shimla - Narkanda - Sarahan

Today, have a delicious breakfast and be prepared to hit the road and explore the stunning town of Sarahan. On the way, you will take a small halt at Hassan valley also known as the Green valley as it has the densest forest in India.

After clicking some candid photos ith a backdrop of the lush green mountain peaks, you will continue your journey towards Narkanda. Here you’ll take a detour to visit the Hatu peak to seek the blessings of Goddess Kaali and to soak in some breathtaking panoramic views of the snow-clad majestic mountain peaks.

Soon, you will start your journey again towards Sarahan, where you’ll first check into your comfortable hotel and settle in. As the evening approaches, you’ll attend the beautiful Aarti and visit the historic Bhimakali Temple – an 800-year-old temple that’s one of the best examples of Kaathkuni architecture and is also counted among the 51 Shaktipeeths. If the sky is clear, you’ll also be able to catch a glimpse of Shrikhand Mahadev – one of the five Kailash peaks.

After an exciting day full of cultural experiences, you’ll head back to your cozy hotel for a good night’s sleep.

Day 3Sarahan - Kalpa

After having a scrumptious breakfast, you’ll embark on an exciting journey towards Kalpa, a charming village nestled in the lap of the Himalayas. On the way, we’ll make a few stops at Tranda Pass, a man-made road through the rocks, and the Karcham-Wangtoo Dam.

As you approach Reckong Peo, the regional headquarters of the Kinnaur District, you’ll be greeted by the majestic sight of the Kinner Kailash mountain. A few more minutes, and you’ll reach Kalpa, a fascinating village that boasts of a unique blend of Buddhism and Hinduism; with a temple and a small monastery co-existing harmoniously.

The other key attraction of Kalpa is the apple orchards and if you plan to visit Kalpa in October or November, you might be lucky enough to savor the delicious, juicy Kinnaur apples. You will also visit the Roghi village and the Roghi cliff also referred to as the suicide point.

After an exhilarating day, we’ll come back to Kalpa and check into a cozy hotel or homestay, where you’ll be treated to a mouth-watering dinner.

Day 4Kalpa - Nako - Tabo

We recommend you to get up early to catch the sunrise as it casts a beautiful golden glow on the snowy Kinner Kailash peak. After this, freshen up, have your breakfast, and get ready for another exciting day of your journey.

Today, you will be heading towards Tabo through some thrilling roads that have been marked with various warning signs by the BRO (Border Road Organization. You may choose to take a selfie with the board or simply ignore them and look at the beautiful scenery around you.

We recommend keeping yourself hydrated as you will be traveling to a higher altitude.

On the way to Tabo, you will be visiting the picturesque Nako Lake and the ancient Nako Monastery. Don’t forget to take some time to explore the surrounding area and immerse yourself in the unique culture of the region.

You will also pass through the Pooh Army Base and the Malling Nallah, which are equally fascinating. On your way to Tabo, you’ll also catch sight of the Pooh Army Base and the Malling Nallah.

Finally, you’ll reach the charming village of Tabo, check-in to your hotel or homestay, have dinner and then go to bed to grab some rest.

Day 5Tabo - Dhankar - Mudh

After having a yummy breakfast today, you’ll be visiting the famous Tabo Monastery, which is one of the oldest monasteries of the Himalayas that dates to the 16th century. It is an important pilgrimage site for the Tholing Gompa, Tibet.

The Tabo Monastery is a sight to behold and is referred to as the Ajanta of the Himalayas because of the cliff-like structures and caves that were once used by Buddhist Monks for meditation. After our visit to the monastery, you’ll head to Dhankar (the old capital of Spiti) to see the Dhankar Monastery (Lha-O-pa Gompa), which is located on a massive cliff that overlooks the Spiti river and the valley.

If you’re up for a short trek, we can head to the stunning Dhankar Lake that’s definitely worth a visit. Later in the day, we’ll venture to the Pin Valley, named after the Pin river, that flows through it. The Pin Valley is home to the Kungri Monastery, the second oldest monastery in Spiti, and the Pin Valley National Park, where you can spot a variety of flora and fauna.

Our last stop for the day is Mudh, a small village in the Pin Valley; where you’ll check into a cozy homestay/hotel, have a delicious dinner, and enjoy a peaceful night’s sleep.

Day 6Mudh - Kye - Kibber - Kaza

After breakfast, we will set off towards Kaza, which is the largest and main town of the valley. Kaza lies on the bank of the Spiti river, and it is divided into two parts – the old (Kaza Khas) and the new (Kaza Soma).

Our first stop will be at the Tangyud Gompa, a famous monastery dating back to the 14th century. It’s a beautiful place with stunning views of the surrounding valley.

Next up is the Kye Monastery, located on top of a hill overlooking the Spiti valley and a vast riverbed. It is the largest monastery in the Spiti valley and serves as a training center for the young lamas.

We will then visit Kibber, the 2nd highest inhabited village in the world. The village is surrounded by breathtaking mountains and offers a unique experience of rural life in the Himalayas.

Our next stop is Langza, a small village known for its fossil reserve. It’s a fascinating place with a rich history and a great spot to learn more about the geological wonders of the region.

We will then head to Hikkim, which is home to the highest Post Office in the world. Here, we will buy postcards and send them to our loved ones with a special stamp that says ‘from the highest post office in the world’.

Our last stop for the day will be Komic, the highest inhabited village in the world. It’s a charming place where we can interact with the locals, learn about their culture, tradition, and lifestyle.

In the evening, we will head back to Kaza for an overnight stay and enjoy a delicious dinner.

Day 7Kaza - Sangla - Chitkul

Today, you will start your day with a yummy breakfast and will then head towards Sangla, a small, beautiful village located on the right bank of the Baspa River in Kinnaur.

Upon our arrival, you’ll first visit the Kamru village and take a leisurely stroll to the Kamru Fort, where we can pay our respects to the deity Kamaksha Devi.

After this, you’ll come down to Sangla which is renowned for its picturesque apple orchards and stunning landscapes. Here you will visit the Bering Nag Temple, which is dedicated to Lord Jagas, also known as Lord Shiva. This revered deity is worshipped by the local people for the prosperity and wellbeing of their village and its inhabitants. The temple’s architecture and design reflect the cultural heritage of the region, and its tranquil atmosphere provides a peaceful space for prayer and contemplation.

You will then continue your journey along the picturesque Baspa River until we reach Chitkul, which is the last village on the Indian side of the Indo-Tibetan border.

In the evening, you can enjoy some free time meandering through Chitkul. Later, you may head back to your cozy hotel to relax and unwind.

Day 8Chitkul - Narkanda / Kufri

Have your breakfast and spend some time on the banks of the river Baspa. Here you may choose to take some candid photos and captivating selfies, but don’t go too close to the water.

After this, you will start your journey back towards Narkanda or Kufri. On the way, you will again be travelling along the Satluj river and will be crossing the Tranda Pass, Wangtoo Dam and Rampur.

Later, we will check-in to a comfortable hotel or homestay in either Kufri or Narkanda where you can enjoy a delicious dinner and a peaceful night’s sleep.

Day 9Narkanda / Kufri: Departure Back Home

Wake up to a fresh new day and have a scrumptious breakfast.

Today is the last day of your trip and you will visit some popular attractions in Kufri like the Kufri Mini Zoo and an Adventure Park (rides at your own expense).

After this, you will set off on a road trip to Chandigarh. While it may be a bit of a long ride, rest assured that your safety is our top priority, and we’ll make sure you arrive in Chandigarh comfortably with warm delightful memories of this enchanting trip.
